This Friday, Brooklyn guitar-benders DIIV will drop a new album Is The Is Are, follow-up to their 2012 debut Oshin. The new album has 17 tracks, and they’ve already shared a handful of them: “Dopamine,” “Bent (Roi’s Song),” “Mire (Grant’s Song),” and the title track. This week, an official Kurt Cobain first ever solo album Montage Of Heck: The Home Recordings released in both a 13-track version and a 31-track deluxe edition which is most of them was a bunch of unreleased recordings and demos from the Nirvana frontman that director Brett Morgan unearthed them during the process of making his recent documentary Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck. Previously, we’ve already heard an early version of “Sappy,” the Beatles cover “And I Love Her,” and a 90-second “Been A Son” demo, and now the album can be stream in full below via Spotify.

Bob Dylan is going to release a massive box sets called The Cutting Edge 1965-1966: The Bootleg Series Vol. 12 next week. It collects outtakes, rehearsal tracks, and alternate versions of songs from Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited, and Blonde On Blonde, and it comes in a whopping 18-CD collectors edition, a 6-CD deluxe edition, and a much more manageable 2-CD Best Of edition. A few tracks have already surfaced e.g. “Can You Please Crawl Out Your Window” and “Subterranean Homesick Blues,” and now NPR is streaming a full-length sampler of tracks from the 6-CD version. Despite stays plenty busy on his own, Ty Segall also plays drums in Fuzz, The power trio that also features Moonhearts’ Charlie Moothart and Meatbodies’ Chad Ubovich. II is nearly 70 minutes long, and it’s don’t sound like a current band; they sound like some unholy fusion of Black Sabbath and Blue Cheer. The Czars frontman turned solo artist John Grant is set to follow his 2013 effort Pale Green Ghosts with a brand new record called Grey Tickles, Black Pressure. The album was recorded in Dallas with John Congleton (St. Vincent, Swans) and features the same creative arrangements, existential lyrics and timeless songwriting that Grant’s fans have grown accustomed to. In a press release, Grant explained that the album title refers to an Icelandic phrase. “'Grey tickles' is the literal translation from Icelandic for 'mid-life crisis', while 'black pressure' is the direct translation from Turkish for 'nightmare,'” he said in a statement. The album is streaming in full exclusively via The Guardian, or stream to it below.

The reissue includes six previously-unreleased bonus tracks. The new songs include the rockabilly “Apocrypha” and the reggae-influenced “Women Of A Certain Age,” as well as a straight-up dub reggae remix of “Flashbulb Eyes.” Listent to the expanded Reflektor, with the six bonus tracks included in full below via Spotify.
