Australian psychedelic pioneer Tame Impala stopped by their nation radio’s Triple J on the Like A Version segment to performed a cover of Kylie Minogue’s 1994 hit “Confide In Me.” The band also performed their hit song from the band recent album Currents track “The Less I Know The Better.” Watch both performances below.

Lana Del Rey recorded a Daniel Johnston cover “Some Things Last A Long Time” for the film Hi, How Are You Daniel Johnston, which tells Johnston’s story. Directed by Gabriel Sunday, the film looks to be a bit of a surreal experience. Rather than a documentary, it’s set up as an imaginary meeting between the Daniel Johnston of 2015 and his younger self in 1983, as he was making his famed album Hi, How Are You. Last week, Real Estate frontman Martin Courtney released his first solo album, Many Moons and he stopped by the SiriusXM studios to promote it. While there, in addition to performing a few tracks from the record, he did a cover of Pavement’s 1999 Terror Twilight track “Major Leagues.”

Hot Chip release a studio version of “Dancing In The Dark,” Bruce Springsteen’s synthpoppiest hit and one of his biggest. The cover leads off the group’s new Dancing In The Dark EP, which also features three remixes, including Soulwax’s take on “Huarache Lights.” Director Kieran Evans has put together a video for Hot Chip’s cover, which mixes footage of the band performing live with TV Carnage-style footage of old, cheesed-out ’80s public access television. Australian indie rocker Courtney Barnett covered The Boys Next Door/The Birthday Party’s 1979 classic “Shivers” as she pointed one of her favorite songs. Barnett has shared her own cover version, produced by Jack White for Third Man Records’ Blue Series of singles. “Shivers” will be the b-side to “Boxing Day Blues Revisited,” a sequel to “Boxing Day Blues” from Barnett’s recent album Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit. Trevor Noah introduced his first musical guest Ryan Adams as he took over The Daily Show, filling Jon Stewart’s role for the first time. Adams currently riding high on his Taylor Swift cover album 1989. On the show proper, Adams and his band, sounding sleepily assured, did their version of Swift’s “Bad Blood.” Noah did a quick interview with Adams, and Adams and his band ripped through their Replacements-esque take on “Style.” As oline bonus, Adams pays homage to a fictional Sandra Bullock character with his version of Taylor Swift's song “Blank Space.” Watch all in the videos below.

This week on A.V. Club’s Undercover series, Ceremony took on Oasis’ “Rock ‘N’ Roll Star,” turning the Britpop track into a post-punk dirge. Check it out below, compare it with the original, and watch an interview with the band in which frontman Ross Farrar sheepishly admits he’d never heard the song before the day of the performance.

Echo in the Canyon is a forthcoming tribute to classic California folk, pop and rock. Consisting of a concert next month and a studio album in early 2016, the project features artists like Beck, Fiona Apple, Cat Power, Regina Spektor and others performing songs by the Byrds, the Beach Boys, Buffalo Springfield, the Mamas & the Papas and more. We can now preview the project with a cover tune from Cat Power and The Wallflowers frontman Jakob Dylan . The pair take on the track “You Showed Me,” a song written by Jim McGuinn and Gene Clark of the Byrds and originally performed by The Turtles. Their cover isn’t too much of a departure from the slinky, low-key pop vibe of the original, although Cat Power and Dylan transform it into a duet with plinky, faintly tropical tones and lush orchestrations. Sun Kil Moon – “The Weeping Song” (Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds Cover)

Earlier this summer, Nick Cave’s 15-year old son tragically died after a fall. To pay tribute, Mark Kozelek of Sun Kil Moon has begun putting a cover of Cave’s “The Weeping Song” into his set in live recording from Edinburgh a few weeks back. Kozelek only says “We’re dedicating this to Nick Cave and his family.” Listen below.

Electronic musician Robert DeLong performed a cover of Chvrches’s “The Mother We Share” on the Australian radio’s Triple J segment Like A Version. Like A Version is a segment on that radio station aired in every Friday morning where a musician or band comes into the studio to play one of their own songs and a cover of a song they love. DeLong also performed his own song “Happy” off of his recent album Just Movement. Watch both performances below.

The song was off their newly released cover album Re:(disc)overed that featured covers of tracks by AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Neil Young, Tom Petty, Stevie Nicks and some more rock legends.
