It’s Bowie’s 25th full-length album and one of Bowie’s most aggressively experimental records ever. Cut with a small combo of jazz musicians whose sound is wreathed in arctic electronics, Blackstar ricochets with textural eccentricity, but above all remains, like the singer himself, clear, elegant and emphatic.
