The Clash to deliver massive compilation on September

Unknown | May 21, 2013 - 5:12 am

The Clash are set to release a new compilation in September including a box set designed by bassist Paul Simonon to replicate an 80s boombox – The Clash Sound System.

The collection will feature the band’s first five studio albums – The Clash (1977), Give ‘Em Enough Rope (1978), London Calling (1979), Sandinista! (1980) and Combat Rock (1982) – all remastered, three rarities CDs, a DVD of unseen footage by Julien Temple and Don Letts, plus fanzines, posters, stickers, badges and more alike goodies.

Sound System is accompanied by The Clash Hits Back, a 33-track, two-CD best-of sequenced to copy the set played by the band at the Brixton Fair Deal – now the Academy – on 19 July 1982, rounded out with big numbers that failed to make the set that night.
