LNZNDRF is the new project from The National’s Scott and Bryan Devendorf and Beirut’s Ben Lanz. They’ll released their self-titled debut via 4AD next month, and they’ve shared videos of three brand new songs: “Beneath The Black Sea,” “Kind Things,” and “Mt. Storm.” Watch them all and check out album tracklist below.

EL VY, the side project from the National’s Matt Berninger and Menomena’s Brent Knopf, stopped by the Late Show With Stephen Colbert Monday. They performed a nice version of the title track from their debut album Return To The Moon. They were not just done yet as they teamed up with Jon Batiste And Stay Human, Colbert’s house band, to cover David Bowie’s 1983 dance-rock megahit “Let’s Dance,” as a tribute to Bowie’s passing yesterday. The National’s Matt Berninger and Chvrches’ Lauren Mayberry sat down to chat in a segment for Live Nation TV. They start off by talking about when Mayberry joined the National on stage a few months back to perform Trouble Will Find Me track “I Need My Girl” at Treasure Island Music Festival, and go on to discuss how bad they both are at playing the guitar, how to maintain a good stage presence, and whether or not they feel famous.

Matt Berninger and Brent Knopf side band’s EL VY released a debut album Return To The Moon a month ago. And after that, they released a series of music videos of the track off the album. Recently, they’ve shared another new music video for a track “No Time To Crank The Sun.” In a clip showed time-lapse footage of Berninger and Knopf doing all the album-promotion things that bands have to do after they get their records ready. The video directed by Berninger’s brother Tom, watch below.

The series of lyric/music videos of Matt Berninger and Brent Knopf side band’s EL VY continued as they released “Silent Ivy Hotel,” the track off their tomorrow released’s Return To The Moon album. The video directed by Berninger’s brother Tom featured a spooky Halloween-appropriate. Watch below.

EL VY, the side-project duo of The National frontman Matt Berninger and Menomena multi-instrumentalist Brent Knopf shared “Need A Friend,” the fourth in a series of lyric/music videos. The video directed by Michael Brown and Berninger’s brother Tom. This one features Matt exploring his childhood home of Cincinnati via bicycle, plus footage of the band playing live with Andy Stack of Wye Oak on drums and Matt Sheehy of Lost Lander on bass. Watch below.

Berninger’s brother Tom, who made the National documentary Mistaken For Strangers, directed the lyric video. Check it out below.

EL VY made a television debut by performing “Return To The Moon” on Conan. Both The National’s Matt Berninger and Menomena’s Brent Knopf were joined by a three-piece backing chorus and Wye Oak’s Andy Stack on drums. The song off their self-titled debut album. Watch the performance below.

The National stopped by this weekend edition of CBS morning show, CBS This Morning. The hosted, Anthony Mason sat down with the Brooklyn-based band discussed their slow rise to fame. The band is nominated for Best Alternative Album of the Year at this year’s Grammy Awards for their recent album Trouble Will Find Me. The National interview on Colbert Report 4/22/2013

The National recently stopped by The Colbert Report as a guest and their frontman Matt Berninger sit with Stephen Colbert for a little chat. 

The clearly nervous singer Matt Berninger had to speak on camera to Stephen Colbert, who proceeded to murder him for being a boring interview. The band got a chance to redeem themselves, though, when they played the stately, surging Trouble Will Find Me track “Graceless.”
