Jesu & Sun Kil Moon – “The Greatest Conversation Ever In The History Of The Universe”

Mark Kozelek’s become the latest contributor to the 30 Days, 30 Songs campaign, the site that’s going to post one anti-Donald Trump song every day until the election. Next year, Kozelek’s Sun Kil Moon project will release 30 Seconds To The Decline Of Planet Earth, his second collaborative album with the great Justin K Broadrick’s shoegaze-metal project Jesu. And they dropped new song “The Greatest Conversation Ever In The History Of The Universe” and it’s not really about Trump, but Kozelek does have a few choice bars for the man. Listen to it below.

Mark Kozelek – “Win” (Feat. Mike Patton) (David Bowie Cover)

Mark Kozelek has announced an all-covers album called Mark Kozelek Sings Favorites, which will be out this spring. The LP features Kozelek singing songs by artists including Modest Mouse, Bob Seger, and Waylon Jennings, accompanied solely by piano and a few guest singers like Faith No More’s Mike Patton and Low’s Mimi Parker. As a first taste, he’s shared his version of David Bowie’s Young Americans track “Win” with backing vocals from Patton, who also sings on 10CC’s “I’m Not In Love.” Listen over on Kozelek’s official website here (or below) and check out the rest of the tracklist below.

Mark Kozelek’s Sun Kil Moon and Justin K Broadrick’s shoegaze-metal band Jesu teaming up for a collaborative albums which will drop later this month. The have shared two singles, “America’s Most Wanted Mark Kozelek & John Dillinger” and “Exodus,” the latter of which featured Low and Slowdive’s Rachel Goswell. A week in advance of its official digital release, they’re streaming the whole album in full via Sun Kil Moon’s official website. The record also features guest contributions from Modest Mouse’s Isaac Brock and Will Oldham.

Sun Kil Moon – “The Weeping Song” (Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds Cover)

Earlier this summer, Nick Cave’s 15-year old son tragically died after a fall. To pay tribute, Mark Kozelek of Sun Kil Moon has begun putting a cover of Cave’s “The Weeping Song” into his set in live recording from Edinburgh a few weeks back. Kozelek only says “We’re dedicating this to Nick Cave and his family.” Listen below.
