Watch Iggy Pop & Josh Homme Debut “Gardenia” On Stephen Colbert
Unknown | January 22, 2016 - 5:37 am
Veteran rocker Iggy Pop and QOTSA/Eagles Of Death Metal’s Josh Homme have gotten album together called Post Pop Depression coming out in March. Last night, Iggy and Homme were on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to perform “Gardenia” and to talk about how the album came to be. Talking to Colbert, they said that they recorded it quickly, over a couple of weeks, at Homme’s Joshua Tree studio. And they also performed “Gardenia” for the first time. They did it with QOTSA/Dead Weather keyboardist/guitarist Dean Fertita, and Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders, the only other two musicians who perform on Post Pop Depression, as well as Chavez frontman Matt Sweeney and QOTSA guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen, who round out the touring band. And Pop wore a shirt, watch the interview and their performance below.

Watch Iggy Pop Talk Being Shirtlessness & Perform On Stephen Colbert
Unknown | April 30, 2013 - 3:40 pm
Iggy Pop stopped by The Colbert Report for a brief talk. An almost-shirtless Iggy Pop recalls driving into a Christmas tree orchard after falling asleep at the wheel. Instead, Iggy, was just his leathery acid-casualty self during his interview segment with Stephen Colbert, and he gave his impression of Link Wray’s “Rumble” guitar riff and explained his frequent shirtlessness like this: “The Pharaoh never wore a shirt.” He and his Stooges also performed a song from their new album Ready To Die, “Job.” Iggy did not waste any time leaving the stage and charging around in the audience, and he got away with saying “shitty” on TV, because he is who he is. Watch below.
