Watch Daft Punk Unchained Documentary Trailer

The long-awaited Daft Punk documentary Daft Punk Unchained arrived on the French network Canal+ earlier this year. Before the BBC offers it up for a wider release, the broadcaster has given us an official taste with a proper new trailer. The film features talking head interviews with a number of Daft Punk fans and collaborators. In the trailer, we get to see brief clips of Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Paul Williams and Nile Rodgers. That’s paired with archival footage and live performances from the duo. The 56th Grammy Awards was a Daft Punk night when the electronic dance duo were the major winner of the awards. The night also marks their first live performance since their last year release Random Access Memories. Watch them and several of the performances on the night below:

Watch Black Simon & Garfunkel Cover Daft Punk’ “Get Lucky” On Jimmy Fallon

Jimmy Fallon’s suggestion box has led to some iconic crazy moments for the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon episodes. This week saw awesome moments courtesy of requests from Fallon fans. One of those request from Simon & Garfunkel fans and would like Fallon have it as Black Simon & Garfunkel on the set. Kelly and Michael discuss Daft Punk, dance to “Get Lucky” with own helmets

Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan dedicated a few moments of Live! With Kelly and Michael to Daft Punk this week.

Kelly brought out a copy of the new Rolling Stone with Daft Punk on the cover. Kelly and Michael also talked about the Daft Punk-inspired helmets fans have been buying and making recently, before donning helmets of their own and dancing to “Get Lucky.”

Daft Punk’s “Random Access Memories” now streaming on iTunes

Daft Punk are streaming their forthcoming new album, fourth so far, Random Access Memories, a full week ahead of its May 21st release. The 13-track effort is now streaming on iTunes. The follow-up to 2005′s Human After All, was produced by their own.

During the works on the album, started in 2008, Daft Punk recorded it in Paris, Los Angeles, and New York alongside of guest contributors, including Pharrell Williams, The Strokes’ Julian Casablancas, Giorgio Moroder, and Animal Collective’s Panda Bear as guest vocalists, Chic frontman Nile Rodgers on rhythm guitar, and “top-notch session players,” who previously recorded with Michael Jackson, Herbie Hancock, and Eric Clapton.

“We wanted to do what we used to do with machines and samplers but with people,” Thomas Bangalter explained to Rolling Stone. Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo added: “The Seventies and the Eighties are the tastiest era for us… It’s not that we can’t make crazy futuristic sounding stuff, but we wanted to play with the past.”
